Always liked Al Montoya as a goalie , back to his days at Michigan . Has had a rough go with injuries . Here is hoping he takes advantage of this chance.

Nail Yakapov needs a change of scenery . Problem is his trade value is way down . I can see him in the KHL if he gets more frustrated.

"...weather in Edmonton? Frigid" "Frozen tundra AKA Winnipeg" Drop the hackneyed clichés, you would think Buffalo is in the tropics or something! As huge Jets fan living 30 minutes from First Niagara/HSBC I can attest to have personally frozen my butt walking 5 minutes from the Washington Square to the rink with howling winds off Lake Erie! Sabres fans are great and passionate about the game so stick to writing about hockey rather than unoriginal geographic stereotypes!

Who are you kidding ! . I have been at Portage and Main in Winter . Coldest place in Canada. A bad winter day in Buffalo is mild for Winnipeg . Go sell you propaganda for Winnipeg .elsewhere . I have been in Alaska in the winter . I would rather be there than Winnipeg . Love Winnipeg but winter there truly does suck !

Only been up in the Tarsands in summer . I do lots of business with Companies up there . As cold as you may think it is . Try Portage and Main in Winnipeg on a day in February . You may change your mind . Those winds blow cold !

I think the Toronto market can eat young players alive . Lots of pressure . I like Kadri , hope he gets through the pressure Toronto can put on a young player.

Whine more, holy shat. Yes, it's on average 30 degrees colder in Peg in the winter. Get over it and move on to the hockey part.

Been to Winnepeg for work. Drove there from Buffalo in a creeper van that resembled the Stanley Steamer van. Gotta say..not a huge fan of the Peg. Not that awful..just..not that great. For some reason I liked Fargo, ND more. Maybe because I'm American.

Nice article Garth. Toronto would be crazy to trade Kadri. Kid is 23 years old. It may just be posturing to try to motivate him. If it's real, then either Nonis is nuts, or there really is some kind of personality issue/rift with the Nazem and Carlyle. It's all just speculation, but I can see that he does come off as a little immature. But if Derek Roy can be turned into a penalty killer, Nazem Kadri can become at least adequate in his own zone. I feel differently about Cody Hodgson, who I think is physically limited as a defensive forward by his lack of foot speed. But there is nothing about Nazem Kadri's physical ability that should keep him from becoming a non-liability in his own zone.
